Fresh Maple Syrup Is Here!

Fresh Maple Syrup is Here!

The long winter is over, and the warm spring weather has released the most delicious sugar maple sap. Go back in your mind to images from history, of buckets rigged to pick up this magical treat that nature so kindly provides from the spouts inserted into the trunks.

That time has recently passed. Now fresh batches of our delicious Wisconsin-made Maple Essence Farms Pure Maple Syrup are being lovingly poured into pint and quarter jugs, just for you. Maybe you prefer the amber color and light, fresh maple taste of the regular maple syrup. Perhaps the dark, deep maple flavor of the dark and strong tasting maple syrup. Either way, now is the time of year to stock up, and enjoy some of these maple syrup recipes.

Staples

Pancakes with Malt

Make sure to get enough to last, because we’re bringing you some syrupy ideas off the beaten pancake. Of course, everyone loves maple syrup with their pancakes and waffles. Maple syrup from Wisconsin is a staple of breakfast. Maybe you’re quickly popping a frozen waffle into the toaster. You might be lazing about on a Sunday morning creating deep-holed Belgian waffles. And don’t forget the amazing malty pancakes, made with our own Soda Fountain Malted Milk Powder.

While you’re pouring the delicious gold liquid on your breakfast carbs, why not try something additional? If you are truly eating a traditional American breakfast, bacon is probably in the picture somewhere. Go ahead and lay that bacon out on a baking sheet, then drizzle it with your favorite Maple Essence Farms Pure Maple Syrup. Then bake for approximately 15 minutes, possibly a couple more, at 400 or 425 degrees. Finally, enjoy the sweet and savory blend of flavors along with the waffles, pancakes, or other breakfast treats.

Carrots with Maple Glaze

Of course, breakfast is not the only time you can enjoy the pure taste of freshly made syrup. Glazed carrots are a special treat on any dinner plate. Just add 1/3 cup water, a tablespoon of butter, and two teaspoons of maple syrup to a pound of carrots, bring them to a boil, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes, and you have a delicious vegetable – dessert? – for dinner time.

The everyday peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich becomes something extra special when you turn it into the peanut-butter-and-maple-syrup sandwich. Mixed nuts (or any flavor of nut) are delicious when drizzled with Wisconsin’s best syrup and roasted in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. There are so many ways to enjoy maple syrup, and we’ve just received a batch, so be sure to get some today!
