Walnut Date Malt Cookies

Soft and chewy, perfect with hot chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon or Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup Soda Fountain® Malted Milk Powder
  • 1 Stick Butter at room temperature
  • 1 Cup Dates – diced and soften in water for 2 minutes (drain off water)
  • 1 Cup Walnuts crusted
  • 1/2 Cup semi sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, mix together butter, both sugars, egg and vanilla until creamy.
  3. Add flour, malt, baking soda, and cinnamon.  Mix until well blended.
  4. Add the dates, walnuts and semi sweet chocolate chips (if you would like) to the batter.  Mix with a large spoon until blended.
  5. Chill cookie batter for 10 minutes in fridge.
  6. Line a baking pan with parchment paper.  With a small sized cookie scooper, place onto the pan leaving 1″ between cookies.
  7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.  Bottom of cookie will be light brown and top will be soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool at room temperature.  Enjoy them warm, so very delicious!
